The Wrath Of MahaRaja

i have had it!

It has been a pretty rough month eversince Amy Baby abandons me and cuddles her way into the arms of the Quality Folks. Nah, im not envious. Am just bored. No one to wrestle with, no one to whine at, no one to give me Shiastu massage and no one to bug at ANYMORE!

And to make matters worse, my boss got me an assistant who needs my assistance! Tell me about it *rolls eyes* Well, not to jump right into the stove, let me give you some history about my assistant. We both joined the company as trainees and were employed as staff after going through stringent levels of selection. you must be wondering how did she make it so far yah. Beats me! Our working styles are as different as day and night, chalk and cheese, hotdogs and bulldogs, err..where do i get that?! Anyhow, you guys get the drift yah. We are that DIFFERENT! Im not shooting her down, given her demure and meek persona, the Engineering sector aint her playground man. She should take her kite and fly it elsewhere, somewhere that her kite can soar high in the clear blue sky.

Okay, back to reality. She hurt her hand and was given 2 months of light duty and my "ingenious" boss rope her in to aid me. The first two weeks were still alright, i mean, looking at her condition plus her swollen hand, anyone with a heart wouldnt get her to do anything. Basically, i only need her to help me with some data entry and generation of documents. Im now juggling with a few projects and has not much free time to plan her training route. So i will try to teach her as and when i have a window. Yet to mention, theres a thin fine line to being meticulous and SLOW. She fits comfortably in the latter and it does impede the training path. Her lack of independency, judgement and urgency are the "not to possess" in my area of scope. Let me cite a few instances:

me: Can you help me to photostat the MasterCopy of this procedure so that i can issue it to the guys on the field? ( that day, the xerox machine died on us so she gotta get out of the office)

she: *looking at the clock* she started packing up.

me: *shoots her a puzzled look* eh, what you doing?

she: Oh, its 11 plus, so i thot i go for lunch then zap the copies later lo.

me: We are talking about MasterCopy here le, and the guys need the copies to run the operation.

she: err..okay lo. i go now.

This aint that bad. The one that made me lost my cool...read on

me: eh, can help me print the BIS reports? i show you how.

she: okay.

me: (us sitting infront of the terminal, looking at the screen) I went through this with you before right, anyway, just recap abit okay. So now what are the critical factors that you must look out for before printing? ( me pointing at the screen )

she: i remember you said the cover page must reflect the 6 modules that have been performed then can print.

me: good. oh yah, plus you must look at the start and end time, it should not show "in progress" okay. If it does and the 6 modules are already completed then you call the Sups and get them to clear the Batch Id in the field so that the system will reflect the updated status.

she: Okay. can. ( jotting notes down)

me: alright. anything just call me. ( i regret saying this )

Within that short frame of half an hour, she shouted for me umpteen times for the slightest thing! e.g Getting a tiny piece of paper stuck in the lourves of the printer tray, topping up the toner, clearing the jammed papers etc..

After an hour, she came out of the room sighing away. Grumbling about the faulty printer. Then she told me that while she was clearing the blank sheets (the faulty printer went crazy and started printing chunks of paper) in between the reports, she overlook a sheet with data and chuck it back into the tray. There goes another report's having double prints! This is not the worse, i told her its okay since the printer goes coo coo, we cant do much about it. I do not have access to re-print so i gotta call my dear friend TS for help as he is the administrator.

With my well-developed communication skills and enhanced personal relations, its quite easy to get things fixed......till i saw TS's email.

hey,

report 4 re-printed. i cant re-print report 7 since not all modules are completed.

I was like "What the HECK" i turned and ask her "how did you print report 6 and 7 because TS said the modules are not completed." ( she printed in all 7 reports)

she: err.. i saw the start and end time mah. so thot all completed.

Me: you knew that we can only PRINT if only and only the 6 modules are done right! you pin-point that to me just now!

she: err...sorry, i thot...( i cut her off)

Then i have to call dear TS again, to let him know as only he can re-print. Then my dear KiKi who is sitting beside me( my ally against Selfish Ong) jokingly told her , " See, blame you leh."
Then she came to my table and starts mumbling " shi wo de cuo, shi wo de cuo" Then she told me she go the dustbin and check for those discarded pieces and see if there are any other reports impacted when the papers were jammed. I couldnt take any more of this shit, i did raise my voice "No point rummaging, wait for the Sups to review, we cant do anything anyway!"

Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Im feeling the Zzzz monster attacking me, still gotta call molly. Alright, i will tell you all more about KiKi, Selfish Ong, Amy Baby and my clique in the next entry.

Ditto.
